MHH is a movement of Mariners Church volunteers that desire to bring Bible-based messages and worship songs to those who have difficulty getting to church. The same video-recorded weekend message shared at our seven Mariners congregations across Southern California is played on facility televisions at the assisted living centers by a provided volunteer host(s). Services are hosted each week at a recurring time that each facility determines. Typically, services are on Sunday afternoons or on a weekday evening immediately following dinner.
The rhythm of the service is to open with worship songs, have the host(s) welcome everyone, and then to watch the recorded weekend message together. The recorded service lasts about an hour. After the recorded message, a live question and answer period ensues, and the residents participate with their thoughts. One-on-one prayer is available for those seeking prayer. Often, the facility or a volunteer provides refreshments.
Our goal is to create an onsite community of Christians who want to deepen their faith and encourage each other throughout the week. In addition, our volunteers from Mariners congregations are encouraged to come and visit with the residents.

Frequently Asked Question
MHH events are scheduled throughout the week at various facilities. The serve times are typically midday on Saturdays and Sundays, or during evening hours on weekdays. The length of the serve is approximately 2 hours, including a pre-event prayer and debrief with your serve group and a closing serve group prayer.
Each MHH location has a different group of individuals to serve, all being created in His image. Volunteers will engage in conversation, sing worship music, and watch the weekend message. After service, Mariners sets aside time for individual prayer and reflection.
Some MHH events include the Communion service and the “I Believe” service, where we give an invitation to follow Jesus. “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.’” (Matthew 16:24)
Baptism and fellowship celebrations are occasionally organized to publicly celebrate God’s love, mercy, and grace that He brings to the MHH group and local city and community.
The overall heartfelt and spiritual reward experienced by volunteers is unique and transformative. Each volunteer who brings their heart, fruit of the Spirit, and openness to serve His Kingdom will gain spiritual maturity.
