Welcome to Mariners ESL!

Did you know that 58% of Irvine residents speak a language other than English at home?

We know God sees them, loves them, and wants them to thrive.

Our Mission: To serve the non-native-speaking adults of our area through English classes and build a sense of community.

Our Guiding Scripture: “When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them.  The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born.  Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt.  I am the Lord your God.” – Leviticus 19:33-32

Volunteer Qualifications:

  • No teaching experience required
  • No need to speak another language
  • Training and support provided
  • Most important is an openness to meet those of other cultures, help them with their English, and build a sense of community
