Hello and welcome to Mariner’s newest ministry called Flourish. This message is a personal invitation for anyone at least 60 years of age to join us at Flourish.
Flourish was inspired by Psalm 92:13-15 (NKJV): “Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing”.
Mariners often brings people of similar ages and life stages together, such as the College, High School, and Marriage Matters ministries. Now Mariners is creating a ministry for older adults. “Older” is a relative term and one difficult to define (or hotly debated) in Orange County.
The Scripture specifically calls out people to bear fruit as they age, specifically to be fresh and flourishing. Yet, in multiple studies on aging, an increasing number of people in these age groups start to feel disconnected and more alone. Even those who attend church can feel this way within the church. The purpose of Flourish is to connect people into community and into church life as active participants and mentors.
Flourish meets every month on the 1st and 3rd Sunday at 10am in the Ministry Center, in room 208, at the Irvine location. Please join us!
