Natural disasters don’t tell us when or where they’ll strike and Mariners Church is committed to responding as God leads.

WE PRAY

We offer our prayers to God, believing that He is present in the midst of trouble, and will bring comfort and relief to those directly and indirectly impacted. “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.” Proverbs 3:25-26

WE GIVE

Our designated fund for disaster relief is used to provide immediate financial assistance and support through our local church partners in affected areas. “Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others.” 1 Timothy 6:18

WE GO

Not every natural disaster is the same, but our desire to show that we care is always present and in some circumstances, we respond with our physical presence. Our value is to partner with existing local churches who will stand present with the community before, during, and after the disaster. Engagement can be for a brief season, or sometimes last long-term, dependent upon what would best serve each unique situation. “And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Romans 10:15

Current Relief Efforts

Texas Winter Storm Response

Winter Storm Uri has created devastating losses for the people of Texas. As many Texan cities were not built for such extreme weather conditions, many face power outages and lack the ability to drive to collect food and water. Many homes have flooding due to burst pipes and operating hotels are becoming increasingly full. We are currently connected with our partners Convoy of Hope and Ecclesia Houston to receive updates and help meet the needs of those impacted by this winter storm.

PRAY: Here are the major prayer requests from our partners.

  • Safety for Convoy of Hope truck drivers as they drive water and supplies in the midst of harsh weather conditions
  • Safety for those sleeping in subzero temperatures due to lack of electricity or generators
  • God’s provision of sending skilled laborers to restore plumbing to homes
  • Restoration of electricity and flood clean-up

GIVE: Please consider giving to help the vulnerable restore plumbing and get back into their homes. Select “Outreach Giving” from the drop down menu.

GO: Ecclesia Houston’s greatest need is for teams with plumbing skills to help restore plumbing to homes. If this is your skillset, please click the link below and we will reach out to you with more information.
