Local Outreach

Local Outreach ministry seeks to fearlessly change the world by caring for the quartet of the vulnerable in our cities by showing and sharing the good news of Jesus.

The Lord of Armies says this: ‘Administer true justice. Show faithful love and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the resident alien or the poor, and do not plot evil in your hearts against one another” – Zechariah 7:9-10

Lighthouse Community Centers

Join us in serving at Lighthouse Community Centers, where we have cared for the Quartet of the Vulnerable for over 30 years.
The centers are located in under-resourced communities in Santa Ana.

Whether you are helping K-12 grade students with homework, connecting with a college mentee in our Pathfinders Program,
or serving in a community event like Block Party, be part of God’s work as we seek the good of our community.

Foster Youth & Families

Mariners Church Foster Youth & Families Ministry exists to transform foster care by building community and restoring hope to
vulnerable families and children. We serve children, teens, young adults, and families across Southern California through our
partners at Orangewood Children’s Home, Orangewood Foundation, and Olive Crest.

Volunteers serve individuals impacted by the foster system through many opportunities throughout the month. You can join us
as we play games, host bible studies, help with crafts, provide meals for foster families, and so much more!

If you are a foster family, we would love to connect with you and hear
how we can support/pray for your family.

Food Pantry & Thrift Store

The Mariners Church Food Pantry creates a shopping environment for families looking for shelf stable food, fresh produce, protein, and dairy to help combat food insecurity. We are able to personally connect with each individual family and walk alongside them in their journey towards self-sufficiency. Ultimately, we seek to help meet the tangible and physical needs of our recipients while introducing them to the hope found in Jesus.

Food Pantry Hours of Operation:
Irvine:   9:30a – 12:30p (every Tuesday to Friday)
Huntington Beach: 9-11a (first and third Saturday of the month)
Santa Ana: 9-11a every (every Saturday)

The Mariners Church Thrift Store is designed to facilitate radical generosity in order to meet the physical and spiritual needs of our community. Our store is fully operated by volunteers to relationally assist those in crisis or chronic conditions while sharing the hope of the Gospel. In addition to assisting families in crisis, we are also open to the public Thursday through Sunday where all proceeds go to outreach endeavors both here in southern California and around the world.
We are located at the Irvine Community Center.

Thrift Store Hours of Operations:
Thursday-Saturday from 9a – 1p
Sunday from 1p – 3p

Prison Ministry

Prison Ministry fearlessly changes the world by sharing and showing the good news of Jesus to those impacted by incarceration. Hebrews 13:1-3 says “Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” We believe that it is the hope of Jesus that brings restoration, even through the complexities of incarceration and the justice system.

Mariners Church partners with Prison Fellowship to mobilize our church to serve the incarcerated and their families. Serve opportunities include: church services inside prisons (called Hope Events), weekly in-prison programming (called Prison Fellowship Grow), and Angel Tree to care for families of the incarcerated.

Unborn

Mariners Church seeks to reach vulnerable women, families, and the unborn, showing God’s heart of compassion and love, bringing them into the community, and sharing the gospel as they walk through life. We care for the quartet of the vulnerable through our partnerships with the Orange County Rescue Mission (OCRM), Horizon Pregnancy Clinic, and Save the Storks.

Our medical mobile clinic offers free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and options counseling in three cities in Orange County each week. Volunteers have many opportunities to serve on the mobile clinic as a male driver/mentor, medical provider, and a patient advocate. We offer mentorship/life coaching for women from the clinic and students at the OCRM. Our prayer team meets twice a month, providing the spiritual support for the ministry, patients, and volunteers. Lives and souls are being saved and seeds of love and faith are being planted.

Military

The Military Ministry serves the Marines and Sailors of our adopted 3/5 “Darkhorse” Battalion. A partnership that was established in 2008 and has grown over the years to include over 4 battalions across Mariners congregations. We strive to promote Christian values, spiritual growth, enhance character, improve morale, and build personal resilience to the men and women who serve our nation at home and abroad.

We serve the battalion by hosting biweekly Sunday Chapel BBQs at Camp Pendleton where we provide a hot and delicious meal and encourage the battalion to stay for a Chapel service after the BBQ. We also host events for the whole family to join in on the fun such as a yearly Family Carnival Day and Christmas Party. We build relationships and improve morale by providing additional resources like Marriage Seminars, Bible Studies, and providing gift baskets for new parents or ball gowns for spouses to wear at their yearly Marine Ball.

Homelessness

We fearlessly change the world by sharing and showing the good news of Jesus to those experiencing homelessness. We partner with local organizations and homelessness shelters to reach those experiencing homelessness in Jesus’ name.

Hosted Here

Mariners Church believes that when the Church expands, our communities are transformed. Mariners Hosted Here fearlessly changes the world by expanding the Church, and bringing the Mariners experience to vulnerable communities who are facility-bound with limited access to attend church themselves.

Serve opportunities include joining a team that hosts weekly Mariners Church services at homelessness shelters, senior living communities, military bases, at-risk youth, or mental health facilities in Southern California.
