Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a week long summer camp for kids entering kindergarten through 5th grade in fall 2013. VBS takes place every year at Mariners Church on the Irvine Campus, with over 2,000 kids and 800 volunteers in attendance. This year we are adding a second VBS in partnership with Ocean Hills Church and Mariners Church Mission Viejo campus.
This year each campus will be transformed as kids come and experience THE BIG TOP! It’ll be an exciting week of games, drama, crafts, fun surprises and live music. We offer childcare and a preschool program (for a fee) for VBS volunteers who volunteer during the entire VBS week. Find out more about volunteering.
What will kids experience at VBS?
Kids are assigned to groups within the same grade and each group has a “guide” that leads them through the activities each day. During the opening program, kids experience amazing live music and drama in the Worship Center. Next they attend various events or “stations” around campus with their assigned group and guide, including crafts, recreation on the lawn, a fun one-day water day, Bible stories and snacks. At the completion of the day, groups meet together again in the Worship Center for more music and drama before the closing prayer is given and the day concludes.
