Junior High (JHM)
We believe that God calls us to community and fellowship with each other! We strive to know him more and grow in our relationship with him. For our weekend services, all 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students are invited to join us in one of our three services. It will be a weekend of fun, friends, laughing, learning, and worshipping God together.
We believe that Jesus modeled community in the BEST way! He gathered twelve guys together to be in His life group, and it was through a relationship that He encouraged, challenged, and walked alongside them. They ate food together, discussed faith, built friendship, and yes, they had fun together. We desire that for every student in our ministry as well. That every student has a person who knows them and a place to belong, and we believe there is no better way than through our Junior High Life Groups!
We believe that God has created every junior high student with a gift to be shared. We want you to share those gifts! Student Leadership is a training ground for students to use their gift to serve during JHM Weekend services. Some ways to serve include tech, worship, choir, photography, greeting, and hosting. Students are essential in leading the weekend services. We want students to reach other students with the love of Jesus by expressing their talents and passions.
A new semester of Student Leadership begins in the fall of 2019
In JHM we want to inspire students to follow Jesus and fearlessly change the world. We partner with our Mariners Church Outreach Department to invite students into opportunities to serve both locally and globally. Every year our Junior High students have the chance to experience life change by serving through our local engagements such as the Resource Center, Food Pantry & Lighthouse Community Centers, as well as through Faith Adventures to both Mexico and Uganda!
In world that is filled with lies about identity and what life should look like, Following Jesus for a junior high student can be difficult, following Jesus for a junior high student can be difficult; that’s where volunteers come in. Whether it’s leading a life group, being a camp counselor, or joining us during a service; our volunteers are the core of our ministry. Our volunteers give every student a person who knows them and a place to belong. When our students can follow trusted leaders who follow Jesus, their faith goes from functional to relational!
