Dear Mariners Family and Friends,
The health and safety of every person who walks onto our campus continues to be a top priority for Mariners. We are carefully monitoring the evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation through the CDC, WHO, and local health authorities and will continue to take a proactive approach to keep our community healthy. While we are not currently making any changes to our program or schedule, we are taking the following extra precautions to mitigate risk:
In our facilities we are increasing the frequency of cleansing and disinfecting in the cafe and preschool, highly trafficked rooms and areas as well as high touch surface areas and door knobs, giving special attention to our Kids building, as well as posting hand washing signs in every bathroom.
In food services we are maintaining the health protocols directed by the National Restaurant Association by increasing the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing tables and general use surfaces, as well as transitioning to disposable utensils for all cafe orders and catered events. Additionally, we are eliminating any food during weekend services that is not individually wrapped, and placing gloved servers at all catered events.
In support of your personal health and hygiene we are placing additional hand sanitizing and hand washing stations throughout the campus, and positioning gloved volunteers to assist our guests.
As we do our part in following the directives of trusted health authorities, we ask that you join us in the following:
Pray. Prayer is powerful, and God is our perfect source of comfort and care. Join us in praying for the people and regions affected, and for the protection of our nation, community, and church.
Prevent stigma. In stressful times, fear, anxiety, and misinformation can result in the harmful stigmatization of people thought to be infected. Coronavirus does not discriminate, and neither should we. Show compassion and support for those who are ill or fearful of becoming ill. We’re stronger as a community when we stand together against discrimination.
We look forward to being with you this weekend as we continue our series, A Better Way to Live.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
