Happy Easter Mariners!

Yes, I know that Easter week has come and gone, but every day is Easter for those of us who know Christ. Today, your sins are still forgiven. Today, your Savior is still alive. Today, you still have new life.

So don’t stop reflecting and rejoicing. Easter is every day for us.

During our Easter services, we began a teaching series called “Jesus in His Own Words.” We want to know what Jesus says about Himself, more than what others say about Him. And we want to see how His incredible claims impact our lives today, because they do.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus introduces Himself to us with seven famous I AM statements. In those statements, Jesus was claiming to be God and offering us Himself. Of course, any person could claim the things Jesus claimed, so Jesus proved and validated His self-proclamations with miracles. For example:

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life”…then he raised a dead man to life.

Jesus said, “I am the bread of life”…and he fed thousands with two fish and five loaves
of bread.

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world”…then he put light into a blind man’s eyes.

These statements are personal for us too. We have life. We are filled. And we no longer walk in darkness.

I am so glad you joined us for Easter. Join us over these next several weeks as we study His other claims and promises. They show us who Jesus is and how they impact our lives today.

In Christ,
