Giving Tuesday

Mariners Family,

I hope your Thanksgiving was awesome!

The Geiger family has much to be thankful for, and joining the Mariners family earlier this year is on top of our list. Thank you so much for your prayers, your encouragement and your kindness. You have been amazing.

We have two things that are happening this week at Mariners.

1. Our Christmas series launches this weekend!
We’re going to study one verse over the next four weekends – the famous prophecy in Isaiah 9:6 that describes the Son that would be given to us. “He shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Because Jesus is all of those qualities, He is the gift you, your friends and your family ultimately need. This weekend would be a great time to invite your friends to join you.

Saturday night is one of those opportunities to invite friends and family to join you for our 5p service and stay afterwards for our annual Tree Lighting.

2. Giving Tuesday is tomorrow.
You may hear about it on the radio, at work or see pithy posts about it on your social media accounts. Because many in our culture are fatigued by all the consumption and recognize that the way to combat greed is with generosity, the idea for Giving Tuesday was conceived. We believe that Christians should be the most generous people because our hearts have been changed by God’s generosity to us. By giving generously to your church, you support all the Lord is doing through Mariners. This is always an important time of year for the financial support of Mariners, and Giving Tuesday is a good reminder to be generous in supporting the mission of your church.

I am really excited about the Christmas season at Mariners and hope to see you this weekend!

In Christ,

Eric
