At Mariners Church Preschool we believe in preserving the experience of childhood as we plant the seeds of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. It is important that each child grows and develops at his/her individual level. Our school provides a safe, clean and secure environment supervised by caring adults. Our program offers concrete experiences which involve early learning skills in math, language, science, art, music, and large muscle development. In addition, invaluable learning takes place through social experiences and dramatic play which encourage problem-solving, creative thinking and cooperation.

We believe in a solid spiritual foundation. This is done through Bible stories, songs, verses, fingerplays, prayer and Chapel time. Children will learn that they are special and that God loves them.

Within each classroom, children are divided into small groups with each teacher having his/her own group. Often the groups combine for learning experiences, and at other times, meet individually. These groupings are dependent upon the child’s age and individual development in order that each child may experience success.

The staff is composed of professional people trained in Early Childhood Education. The staff also participates in various organizations and on-going training to benefit the education of children. We are members of the Association of Christian Schools International and attend several of their conferences throughout the year.

Parents are an integral part of Mariners Church Preschool and may participate as volunteers. Please stop by the office to get a volunteer checklist which includes meeting with the director and a TB test result, prior to volunteering. We have an “open door” visitation policy. Parents are asked, however, to check in at the office so that “visitor” tags can be given. This alerts the staff that the visitor has permission to be on the premises. Working together, we can be a positive influence on your children and reinforce values. We emphasize parent/staff communication and respect parents as the principal influence in the young child’s life.
