Curriculum

Mariners Church Preschool utilizes The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Twos™ (ages 0-2) and The Creative Curriculum for Preschool™ (ages 3-5). The goals and objectives for each curriculum set the standard for our program. The children are presented with activities and opportunities that will enable them to strongly develop their social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language abilities.

The Creative Curriculum is a comprehensive program that directly meets the current needs of children while providing them with a solid early childhood foundation, equipping them to confidently enter elementary school. We align our program with the California State Kindergarten Standards, California Common Core Standards, California Learning Foundations, California State Licensing Title 22 and the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct.

Our curriculum is presented so each child can experience a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities and opportunities to enhance their growth and development. These activities include the following:

Spiritual Growth & Foundation – Developed by our teaching staff, Bible curriculum is implemented into the daily schedule to meet the current interests and needs of the children. Biblical concepts, prayer and character traits are woven into the Daily Interest Centers, the Outdoor Classroom, Small/Large Group times and social interactions.

Chapel – Our weekly chapel time provides children with the opportunity to fellowship with their classmates through song, music and movement, Bible lessons and prayer. Our teaching staff participates on a rotating schedule allowing each classroom to have a turn to share God’s Word at Chapel.

Math & Literacy – We offer activities that align with the California State Kindergarten Standards, California Common Core Standards and California Preschool Learning Foundations
