We can look around us and see all that God has blessed us with. But if we look further, we are hit with realization that there is scarcity in this land of abundance. There are people near and far who struggle to make it through their day, whether it’s finding their next meal or finding hope to keep going. At Mariners, we purpose to reach out to those around us who are in need.

Lighthouse Local Outreach

Global Outreach

Lighthouse Local Outreach has established many resources in Orange County to work with the poor and needy to break the cycles of poverty. Through the Lighthouse Learning Center, children can be tutored and mentored by people who care about them and care that they succeed. Miracles in Motion, our ministry to families living in local motels, also pairs mentors with families to walk along side them as they work to establish a more permanent housing situation. Other programs include foster children summer camps, a ministry to teen moms, and HopeBuilders, a program to work with families to refurbish deteriorated housing.

Global Outreach holds the same values as our Local Outreach, but on an international level. Partnering with local churches, teams of Mariners staff and volunteers travel to China, Africa, India, Mexico and other countries to help build housing, educate members of the community on successful business practices, play with orphans, hold vacation Bible schools, and share the love of Jesus. In times of crisis, we have established relief centers to distribute food and clothing and have helped rebuild destroyed housing and churches.

None of these activities would be possible without the hard work and generous hearts of our volunteers. Whether locally or globally, the people of Mariners have responded to tremendous need in tremendous ways. From data entry in our offices to mentoring a high school student, to building boats in Sri Lanka, we can help put people in a place of potential. We can give them hope.
