Senior Pastor : Kenton Beshore

Six ways to describe him:
Gifted communicator. Lover of God's Word. Committed to Christ. Passionate about his family. Believes the local church is the best hope for a hurting world. An adventurer at heart.

What he's really good at:
A unique speaking style that combines personal vulnerability, quick wit and provocative insight. They all make for a cool environment for people from all walks of life to consider the next step in their faith journey wherever they may be.

Another cool thing he does:
Meets regularly with nine pastors from the Southern California area to inspire them, motivate them, equip them, and pass on what he's learned about ministry, so together they can do an even better job of bringing the hope of Jesus to hurting and searching communities.

What he's earned besides accolades and respect:
His B.S. from Biola University in La Mirada, California, and his seminary degree from Talbot Theological Seminary, also in Southern California.

Some other stuff he's learned in the classroom called life:
a. We really do need each other to walk through this life.
b. Learning is a life-long passion.
c. Love God. Love others. The rest is gravy.
d. Run. Every day. It's good for you.
e. All of the above.

Where did we find him?
We found each other - with God's help. In 1978, Kenton came to Mariners as a college pastor. He loved Mariners' dream to reach out to those who weren't currently attending church - for whatever reason - and share the truth that God loved them more than they could ever know and, in 1984, he became Mariners' Senior Pastor. Although it began in a single living room 40 years ago, Mariners has flourished to become a church where today more than 9,000 adults, students and children come together each weekend.

What he cherishes:
His wife, Laurie - his high school sweetheart! - their four sons, Beau, Cole (w/wife Katie), Case and Bryce, and their two grandchildren, Jack and Miley.
