Already registered for the Junior High August Houseboats trip??  Here are all the details you'll need to get ready for camp!

BEFORE YOU LEAVE...

There are additional Medical Release forms to be turned in for Sonshine Ministries.   THESE FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED.   Please fax them in to Lindsey White before the trip (949-854-6951) or have them in hand in order to board the bus!!

 LUGGAGE - VERY IMPORTANT!!

Make sure to put a large label on your bag and backpack with your name on it.   You must pack light - its only a five day trip! Luggage space is limited.


DEPARTURE & ARRIVAL

Meet in the Community Center at 9:00pm (That's right 9 PM at night!) on Monday, August 18th. We will be departing at 10:00p after a programmed time and all are checked in!   After driving through the night, our anticipated arrival time at Sonshine Ministries is 7am the next morning.   We will be returning on Saturday, the 23rd     at approximately 7:00 am.

WHAT TO PACK

Remember:   You must pack light - its only a five day trip! Luggage space is limited

- Sleeping bag &/or pad & pillow (you'll be sleeping on roof of houseboat!)

- Bath Towel

- Sunscreen

- Sunglasses

- Grubby clothes, warm clothes

-Swimsuit (girls - tankini or dark colored tank top over your 2 piece)

**The value is to promote modesty and create a comfortable environment where image is not emphasized.

- Camera

- Tennis Shoes/ Sandals that you can hike in when wet & will stay on when swimming

-   Flashlight

- Toiletries: bug repellent, lip balm, toothbrush, soap

- Bible, notebook, pen

-   Cards/board games

-   $$ for stop on the way up and stop on the way back

- Snacks to share with your houseboat

- Personal Re-fillable Water Bottle


 

WHAT NOT TO BRING

-    NO DRUGS, NO TOBACCO, OR NO ALCOHOL, (if you bring or use these, you'll be sent home immediately via Greyhound!)

-    NO INAPPROPRIATE READING MATERIAL. (That includes for girls' magazines...NO Cosmo, Glamour, Seventeen, Etc.)


-    NO GAMEBOYS,

-    NO DVDS,

-    NO HAIR DRYERS, hair stylers

-    40 ft SAILBOATS

-   HEAVY SUITCASES

-    NO WEAPONS (KNIVES, ETC.)

-    NO JEWELERY OR VALUABLES

-    NO BAD ATTITUDES!


-    You may only use cell phones on the ride back to Mariners on the bus (to call parents to be picked up). If found using it elsewhere, it WILL be confiscated!   The use of CELL PHONES AND PERSONAL AUDIO/VIDEO/GAME DEVICES ARE NOT PERMITTED SINCE THEIR USE IS TO THE DETRIMENT OF THE CAMP VALUES (i.e. community and individual interaction). Please note, Mariners Church will not be held responsible for the loss or damage of any personal items.
