Johnny Ace Palmer at the Tent!
September 30, 2005, world champion close-up magician, Johnny Ace Palmer, fresh from 28 standing-room-only performances at the Magic Castle, gave Mariners Church a very special stage performance in the Tent. Combining his Magic Castle act with tricks specifically for the stage, while he also gave us some insights on being a Christian, it truly was a "magical" night for the 175 who attended. We also enjoyed some inventive warm-up comedy skits by Yamo & Friends.

Master of Ceremonies Yamo warms up the crowd

Yamo & Friends with one of the biggest stars of the night, Johnny's little rabbit, Snowball
Johnny makes a parade of scarves appear, disappear, and reappear, until we no longer trust our own eyes
Johnny takes four silver half-dollars and performs feats of manual dexterity that most of us would find impossible
Johnny begins with three lengths of rope, which turn into equal lengths...
...then go back to three lengths again!
His audience volunteers examine the little yellow pompoms and the cups before he begins his high-speed cups-and-balls routine
Then he demonstrates the dexterity of his magical fingers. As he puts them through their paces, the look on the face of the volunteer on the right says it all.
And when the cups are lifted, the yellow pompoms suddenly have transformed into peeping baby chicks! And Johnny says, "Don't they look REAL?" The "awww" factor is very strong here.
Help!

(Have no fear; these chicks are VERY pampered.)
As if that weren't enough, out of nowhere, Johnny's doves suddenly appeared!
Snowball has as many fans as Johnny.
